Luis Mayen
With nearly two decades in the field of organ donation, Luis Mayen has dedicated his career to honoring the generosity of organ donors and their families. Luis joined Donor Network West in 2002 after graduating from UC Berkeley with a pre-med degree in Biology. After beginning his career as an Organ Allocation Coordinator, he discovered a passion for team development and leadership, and subsequently served in various management roles.
Luis currently serves as the Region 5 Representative on the UNOS Operations and Safety Committee, he Chairs the Organ Preservation Workgroup, Co-chairs Donor Network West’s Medical Advisory Board, and is the Vice President of Strategic Partnerships & Business Development at Donor Network West. Outside of work, Luis is an amateur beekeeper and volunteers with outreach groups to educate and empower Latinx youth to vote.
