Larry Salinas Appointed To Donor Network West Board Of Directors
(Fresno, CA) September 27, 2019 – Donor Network West, the organ and tissue recovery organization for Northern California and Nevada, announced the appointment of Larry Salinas to its Board of Directors.
Mr. Salinas, a Clovis resident, currently serves as the Executive Director of Governmental Relations under the Office of the President, California State University, Fresno. In his role, he serves as the principal governmental liaison and advisor between the university and policy makers at the local, state, and federal levels.
Organ donation is personal to Mr. Salinas as his five-year-old grandson, Austin, is in need of a kidney transplant. The 44-year resident of the Central Valley will be instrumental in advocating for organ and tissue donation at many levels and help give hope to the thousands of people waiting on the transplant list.
Mr. Salinas has over 36 years of political and public affairs experience, and has served as an advisor to many candidates and elected officials.
Nearly 1,000 people are waiting for an organ transplant in Fresno County. One organ donor can save the lives of up to eight people and a tissue donor can heal 75 others. Anyone can register as a donor at the DMV or at DonorNetworkWest.org.
Donor Network West saves and heals lives by facilitating organ and tissue recovery for transplantation and research. The organization was established in 1987 and is an official Donate Life organization accredited by the Association of Organ Procurement Organizations (AOPO) and the American Association of Tissue Banks (AATB). Federally designated to serve 45 counties in Northern California and Northern Nevada, Donor Network West partners with the Department of Motor Vehicles and the state-authorized donor registries.
